Courses Taught
No current teaching responsibilities. Past graduate-level teaching included economics of intensive forestry, forestry computer applications, and economics of fire management.
Research Interests
Economic analysis of forest management alternatives; intensive timber management; economic and biophysical risks in forestry; and computer applications for forestry decisions.
Programs and Grants
Responsibilities involve directing USDA-Forest Service research on economics of forest management, forestry investments and risk for the North Central States. Current research projects and interests include assessment of economic opportunities to expand timber supplies, evaluation of timber and nontimber tradeoffs, analysis of timber supply and price trends, the Lake States Forest Resources Assessment rural economic development strategies, and microcomputer software for forest management decisions.
